Lab Reject Studios @ Season’s Screamings!

Greetings, loyal (test) subjects! The lab has not particularly been a hive of activity of late, so we are terribly sorry if we forgot to feed you in the interim. Hopefully the occasional lost interloper sufficed. We are not gone. In fact this very weekend we shall be emerging to host a table at Season's Screamings, otherwise known as the Midsummer Scream horror convention temporarily relocating itself to provide some nightmares before Christmas! You may find us at Booth 843 at this extravaganza being hosted by the Pasadena Convention Center, as denoted in this handy graphic: Dawn will have old and also brand new(!) spooky selections of her artwork available. Meanwhile fans of Zombie Ranch will be pleased to know that print issue #17 has recently been finished and the webcomic itself has restarted (albeit still somewhat sporadically) after a tumultuous year. If you can't make it to the convention, do be sure to give our online Redbubble of Art of Dawn shopfronts...

Lab Rejects at WonderCon@Home!

Conventions? What are those? they pondered, dreaming misty memories of a long long ago... Well, we won't be greeting any of you in person at WonderCon this year on account of lingering COVID concerns, but we're not entirely without a presence. WonderCon 2021 will be occurring online with all the panels and exhibitors you might expect, but delivered in digital form. We will have a Lab Reject Studios page in their listings although mostly all you need to know is that labreject.com has you covered and you can access our various storefront options there. The convention meanwhile goes "live" at 10am Pacific Time on Friday, March 26th (i.e. tomorrow) and will run through Saturday, so be sure to check it out! https://www.eventeny.com/events/wonderconathome-1162/ Oh and we almost forgot, as a special treat for you our long-suffering test subjects, we will have a coupon code active where you can order a signed print copy of Volume 1 and/or Volume 2 of Zombie Ranch at...

Lab Report 7/22/2020

Hello subjects! It's been quite the year, with the lab being quarantined -- although this time much of the world has been quarantined along with us. Not too much happening on the conventions front due to that. At least, until now! Well, no, we're still not out in public, but San Diego Comic-Con is still putting on their art show in an online format and Dawn will once again be a part of it! As of today you should be able to go to comicconathome.tumblr.com and/or artofdawn.tumblr.com to see her works and other artists as well! In addition we've just opened a new storefront for artwork and merch hosted on Dawn's gallery site, and while San Diego Comic Con @ Home is going on we're offering 10% off many of our items, with an additional 10% off available in coupon form to Dawn's Patreon subscribers. https://artofdawn.com/shop/ Please do check it out, and stay safe! We need you for the control group, after all. --...

Lab Report 11/27/2019

It's almost Turkey Day here in the States a.k.a. Thanksgiving. The lab is still packed away at the moment but we finally seem to be pest-free at long last and so will now start the great unpacking. We have also set a definite date to restart our regular updates of Zombie Ranch, so fans, mark your calendars for January 8th, 2020! In addition our Kickstartered Volume 2 books have arrived and look quite snazzy, so we'll be signing and shipping those soon to our backers in order to hopefully beat out the usual Holiday postalgeddon. So I suppose all in all, some things to be thankful for. Oh yes, and Happy Holidays if we don't message y'all again before then! -- Clint and Dawn ...

Lab Report 10/05/2019: Bugs in the System

Folks, there's no mincing words, it's been a heck of a few months here at the lab, culminating in a real-life pest problem which has gotten serious enough that we've had to put Zombie Ranch on an indefinite hiatus for the first time ever. Just in time for our 10th anniversary! Feh. Yes, it's true, this past Wednesday, October 2nd, marked 10 years since we published our very first page of Zombie Ranch online, but your humble proprietors were so physically and mentally exhausted from home purging that we completely forgot about it. And alas, the war is not over yet. But we'll get through this. Even though Dawn currently has no workspace for her art, we're still doing what we can to get our successfully Kickstartered Volume 2 book ready for printing on time (thank the stars for pre-existing digital content!). In the meantime we appreciate all past, present, and future support. Hang the biohazard sign on our containment bulkheads for now,...

Kickstarter Volume 2, Part 2

LAB UPDATE: We're a little over halfway to the end of our Kickstarter for the Zombie Ranch Volume 2 book, and a little under halfway to our goal. If you're at all interested in pledging, please do! Lots of Kickstarter-exclusive benefits are available like custom art and prints, and even getting your name referenced in one of our upcoming issues in the world of the Weird New West! Most importantly, we want to be sure to hit our target by the time the Kickstarter closes on July 7th so the project is successful and we get the funding necessary for the print run. If you're waiting for that end-of-month paycheck, mark your calendars (and also remember that no one gets charged until the project ends). Lab Report 3/28/19 – WonderCon, etc.!

Hello cheerfully willing test subjects! Do you have your badges for WonderCon 2019 yet? If not, we believe they are still available. Jump in on San Diego's baby sibling show and come visit us at Small Press SP-98 this weekend! Just don't be too concerned if we're reluctant to shake hands -- there's been a wee bit of a virus outbreak at the labs this week and though your humble proprietors are recovering, this appearance is technically a breach of quarantine procedures. Don't tell the CDC, eh? Oh, and here's a map! Maps are handy. Click for larger version! This may be our first newsletter for a lot of you who signed up within the last few months, or it might be the third in a sudden dump of them you received today because we realized we forgot to categorize the previous two properly so they weren't picked up by our mailer service. So apologies for that, everything should be sorted now! As...
