Lab Report 3/28/19 – WonderCon, etc.!

Hello cheerfully willing test subjects! Do you have your badges for WonderCon 2019 yet? If not, we believe they are still available. Jump in on San Diego's baby sibling show and come visit us at Small Press SP-98 this weekend! Just don't be too concerned if we're reluctant to shake hands -- there's been a wee bit of a virus outbreak at the labs this week and though your humble proprietors are recovering, this appearance is technically a breach of quarantine procedures. Don't tell the CDC, eh? Oh, and here's a map! Maps are handy. Click for larger version! This may be our first newsletter for a lot of you who signed up within the last few months, or it might be the third in a sudden dump of them you received today because we realized we forgot to categorize the previous two properly so they weren't picked up by our mailer service. So apologies for that, everything should be sorted now! As...

Lab Report 03/04/2019

Hello willing (and unwilling) subjects! As a quick update for any of you in the Los Angeles area, we'll be making an appearance this Friday evening, March 8th, at the Pasadena Central Library! And we won't be alone. It's all part of Pasadena's Art Night, and the library is celebrating Westerns as well as spotlighting lady creators of comics. The Graphic Novel Salon & Gallery is happening in the Great Hall/East section from 6-9pm and is totally free to attend! Friends of the Ranch Fanbase Press have a great rundown of who will be there on their site: http://fanbasepress.com/index.php/about/newsfeed/item/9730-join-fanbase-press-and-southern-california-s-indie-creators-for-artnight-pasadena-2019 Lots of good folks we know (or at least know of), and what with Pasadena being our home turf we of course have to represent. Free parking, free event, and heck, the Paseo Colorado and Old Town aren't too far away if you want to end or begin the evening with some eats & drinks. Hope to see some of you there! ...

Lab Report 02/11/2019

Been a slow start to the year so far here at the Studios but we wanted to be sure and remind everyone that our live convention appearances will be happening again soon, in fact starting this weekend at the Long Beach Comic Expo in Long Beach, California! We'll be tabling at Artist's Alley E1, and per the rules of the show will be under our own inimitable names in any programming, so be sure to look for Clint Wolf, Dawn Wolf, or some combination thereof. Or you can just look out for our Lab Reject Studios banner! WonderCon and San Diego Comic Con are both on our schedules as well, so stay tuned for more details there. And don't forget to check out Dawn's Patreon page if you haven't already! ...

Lab Report 11/08/18

Greetings loyal (test) subjects! Our last report was a couple of months ago, although in our defense, the lab has been relatively quiet with the end of our convention season for the year. At least 50% fewer explosions. We would certainly like to take the opportunity to extend our greetings to some of the new names on the mailing list, many of whom found their way here by way of our Zombie Ranch website. Welcome! If you're interested in any of our past newsletters, they are archived for your convenience. In particular we recommend the September one which outlined our commercial presence on the Internet at Redbubble and beyond. The Holidays are coming up, after all, and what better way to celebrate than with a happy mutant Duckiecorn (frolicking upon t-shirts or other products) for someone you love? Don't answer that, it's a hypothetical inquiry. Obey and consume. Speaking of consuming, on the Zombie Ranch front we just wrapped Episode 16 online, which is eventually...

Lab Report 9/19/2018

Yarr, it be Talk Like a Pirate Day as we write this update, mateys! Though the whimsical winds of MailChimp may deliver it to ye at a later time. With Long Beach Comic Con in our wake, our convention appearances are over for the year. But fear not if there was something you had your weather eye upon! It seems as good a time as any to remind and/or instruct ye of our various online ports o' call... Okay, okay, we'll stop with the pirate talk. It's unbefitting of a lab environment, even a mad one. Let's try that again in plainer English and say, hey, we have online store presences! You can buy our stuff at them! The main shop right now remains our Lab Reject store at Redbubble (https://www.redbubble.com/people/labreject/). Have you been one of the folks who stopped by our booth and admired the Duckiecorn or Clubbing Seal but wished we had it available in t-shirt form? Redbubble has you covered! All...

Lab Report 7/16/2018

Wow, has it really been a year since we published a newsletter update? And here we are with the same occasion again: San Diego Comic-Con! We'll be in the Small Press Pavilion at table N-7 if you happen to be fortunate enough to attend. Please disregard the "2019" label on the map below, it was the result of a time machine mishap. The less said about that, the better. If you don't have a badge but are in the area, you can still check out Dawn's entries in the Art Show located in Grand Hall CD of the Grand Hyatt hotel! That's right, NO COMIC-CON BADGE REQUIRED to enter and/or bid on the pieces. The Grand Hyatt is near the corner of Market Street and Harbor Drive in San Diego, just outside the Harbor Drive vehicle traffic closure that will be occurring this year. The Art Show's is open to the public during these hours, and we highly recommend checking the Comic-Con website...

Lab Report 7/17/2017

Hello most patient test subjects! I trust your tubes and petri dishes have been adequately comfortable since last we checked on you. We have been a quiet lab, it's true, but we wanted to be sure those of you who are attending this year's San Diego Comic-Con know that we are once again set for the Small Press Pavilion at table P-14! We should be in the online guide and quick guide, but in our benevolence we have put together a handy map, since one could theoretically land a small plane in the vast space that is the San Diego Convention Center exhibit hall. Theoretically! Please don't try it. Or if you must, please aim away from Small Press. We will have prints, comics, pins, jewelry, t-shirts, and Dawn will be taking commission requests on a first-come, first-served basis! Look for the Lab Reject banner on the front of the table and/or the stand up Art of Dawn and Zombie Ranch banners in...

Lab Reject Studios at SDCC!

Big news! A last-minute cancellation* opened up a spot in the Small Press Pavilion of the big one itself, San Diego Comic-Con, so your humble proprietors will be setting up shop after all! (*We have a rock solid alibi. Honest.) Now this news is really only helpful for those of you already lucky enough to be attending the show, but if you are mark down Small Press P-14 as your Lab Reject destination! We're now listed on the website but this opportunity came far too late for us to be in the printed program. In addition to the booth, Dawn will be once again showcasing selected prints and original art of her making in the Art Show, which is located in a roped off corner of the Sails Pavilion (the upstairs area where attendees check in their badges). Check it out Thursday through Saturday and you might find a great piece of 2-d or 3-d artwork at a very competitive bid price! Sorry for the late...

Lab Report 3/24/16

Hello fans and potential specimens! It's been awhile since our last update and we apologize for that. I'm happy to report that the containment fields are holding and there should be no more escape incidents as we pack up the lab for our field expedition to WonderCon 2016, which for this year is to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Dawn has even worked up a handy show floor map for your reference! (CLICK TO ENLARGE)   Now if you haven't gotten your tickets for WonderCon yet and want to come this weekend, there's some bad news and good news. The bad news is the all-day and Saturday passes are sold out. The good news is that Friday and Sunday passes are still available, and at quite decent prices! But here's the catch -- YOU MUST ORDER ONLINE. They won't sell 'em at the door. Here's the link, though, because we are benevolent like that: WONDERCON 2016 BADGES We will have our new Zombie Ranch Trade Paperbacks...

Lab Report 9/5/15

Hi folks! Haven't done a general update in awhile, mostly because we've been busy dealing with the results of a very successful Kickstarter. Thank you to all of you who pledged! The finished book looks great if we do say so ourselves (more importantly, various people we've shown it to agree). Digital rewards have already been delivered and we're hoping to have the physical ones out to all backers inside of a month. Since that's all but done we've decided to roll the mailing list over into a more general "Lab Reject" newsletter, which will still cover Zombie Ranch news in addition to any of our other projects and appearances. Speaking of which, Long Beach Comic-Con is coming up next weekend, September 12th and 13th at the Long Beach Convention Center!   Those of you who are long time followers of the Lab (even from before we were the Lab!) might recall that the inaugural Long Beach convention in 2009 was the first time...
